To Create a Gradient Fill

You can fill a picture block with a gradient which smoothly blends from one color and tint to another color and tint. You can specify either a linear or a circular gradient. For a linear gradient you can control the angle of the gradient. You can also control the screening parameters used when the gradient is printed to a PostScript device.

  1. Create a picture block and click in it with the cropping tool.

  2. Choose Gradient from the Graphic menu.

  3. Set up the gradient's specifications and click OK. RSG builds the gradient. Linear gradients at angles other than zero degrees or ninety degrees, as well as circular gradients, take a few seconds to build. A picture block which contains a gradient cannot contain another graphic. Gradients automatically scale to fill the size and shape of the picture block, and they cannot be cropped.
