Some printing service bureaus prefer you to bring a PostScript file of your document. The PostScript file is a text-only file that includes the complete text and graphics with PostScript instructions for printing the RSG document on a PostScript imagesetter. If the imagesetter has immediate access to all the fonts in your document you can strip the font data from the PostScript file. This results in a smaller PostScript file and it can save time in printing.
Finalize everything in your document, including the options in the Printing Preferences and Printer Specs dialog boxes, before you create the PostScript file.
-
Choose Print from the File menu. The Print dialog box appears.
-
Click the PDF button and choose: Save as Postscript.
-
Select a drive and folder to save your PostScript file to, type a name for the PostScript file, and click Save.
RSG will not open a document saved as PostScript, so be sure to save your document as a RSG file with Save or Save As from the File menu.
