You can save any selection of text as a text-only document that most Mac applications can open. Any special type specs such as bold typestyle or tracking are not saved. However, information can be included about any stylesheets which are formatting the text; these tags can be used to reformat the text if it is re-imported into RSG.
-
Select the text you want to save as a document. Or select an insertion point to save all the text in the text block and other linked blocks.
-
Choose Export/Export Text from the File menu, and give the text-only document a name.
-
Select the Character Set of the text. It can be either Macintosh to be compatible with older Mac OS applications or Unicode to be read by the latest programs or application on other systems.
-
Select the Tagged Text option to include the names of stylesheets which are formatting the text. Any text formatted with a stylesheet will be preceded in the text file by the name of the stylesheet enclosed in angle brackets. Text that was not formatted by a stylesheet will be preceded by <NO STYLE>.

Click Save.
