The leading between paragraphs is usually the same as the leading between lines, but you
can add more leading between one or more paragraphs.
-
Select the first line of each
paragraph above which you want to add extra leading. Each paragraph is spaced from the
paragraph above according to the current leading specified for its first character. To
change the leading between several paragraphs, it's easiest to select all the text in all
of them.
-
Choose Vert Spacing from the
Format menu. If a number other than 0 appears in the Paragraph Spacing box, the selected
paragraphs already have leading added above them by the number of points indicated. If no
number appears, the paragraphs have different amounts of leading added between them.
-
Type the number of points you want
to add as extra leading. You can type from .01 to 327 points. You can specify to a
hundredth of a point.
-
Click Apply to see the results.
The space above each selected paragraph is adjusted.
-
Click OK when you're finished.
To restore paragraphs to their
normal spacing, select the paragraphs that have extra leading above them, choose Vert
Spacing from the Format menu, type 0 in the Paragraph Spacing text box, and click OK. |
