To see the design of the page more clearly, you may want to hide the non-printing gray outlines of text blocks and the solid outlines of picture blocks. If you hide the text block outlines, you can't see any empty text blocks-choose Select All from the Edit menu to see their selection handles.

1. Choose Preferences/General from the Document menu. The General Preferences dialog box appears.

2. Deselect Show Block Outlines (to hide outlines) or check Show Block outlines (to show outlines).

3. Click OK.
