You can quickly duplicate one or more
selected objects at precise intervals on the page, e.g. to create a series of horizontal
rules down a page.
-
Select the object, objects, or
group you want to duplicate.
-
Choose Duplicate from the Object
menu. The Duplicate Selected Objects dialog box appears. Units of measure are as in the
Preferences dialog box.
-
Type the number of duplicates in
the How Many box.
-
Type the distance in the
Horizontal Offset box. Positive numbers place duplicates to the right, negative numbers
place them to the left.
-
Type the distance in the Vertical
Offset box. Positive numbers move duplicates down, negative numbers move them up.
-
Click OK.
TIP! A fast way
to add rules down a form is to create the first rule and align it with the first line of
text where you need a blank. Then specify the number of rules you want, and type the
amount of text leading as the Vertical Offset space (Preferences must be set to picas or
points). Leave the Horizontal Offset box empty. Click OK to create the blank lines on your
form, and resize lines as needed.
