To Specify a Font, Size, and Type Style

When you type text in a text block, it appears in the font, size, and type style currently applied at the insertion point. You can change the font, size, or type style as you type or after you've placed text in a text block.
The type size contains a preset specification for leading. To change this automatic specification, see
To Adjust the Leading Between Lines, later in this chapter.

  1. Select an insertion point or the text you want to change.

  2. To change the font, select Font from the Format menu, and choose a font. If the new font has the same size but a different leading specification, the leading will be adjusted.

  3. To change the font size, select Size from the Format menu, and choose a size. If you choose Other, a dialog box prompts you for a font size. You can type any size from 1 to 327 points, in hundredths of a point. Then click OK.

  4. To change the type style, select Type Style from the Format menu. You can choose one type style or a combination of styles. If you choose Plain, all the other styles are removed.

You can also use the typography palette to change the font, size, and type style of selected text.
